ZTRON trip to Hunan in 2009: Encounter of magnificent scenery and folk tradition

Zhangjiajie, Hunan is located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province (Xiangxi). It is a very famous scenic tourist area. Homeworld travel. The strange mountains and strange scenery are so beautiful that in early autumn and September, the company organized employees to start a three-day trip in Zhangjiajie-Furong Town-Phoenix Ancient City-Yuanjiajie.

On the way, the tour guide introduced the local conditions and customs of Xiangxi, which can be summed up as three major folk customs in Xiangxi, which are "Xiangxi Chasing Corpse", "Putting Gu" and "Tujia Girl".

"Xiangxi rushing corpses" refers to the tradition of Xiangxi people who died in other places to return their corpses to their hometowns for burial. Shipped back to Xiangxi in batches. "Releasing Gu" was very popular in the ancient Miao people. The poisonous Gu of Miao women usually has mysterious toxicity and can enter the human body through diet. According to my understanding, this should be similar to poisoning. The "crying marriage" of "Tujia girls" is also a unique custom of the Miao people. When a Miao girl gets married, she has to cry in her natal home for three days and three nights, crying and complaining. It is said that this is a traditional ceremony.

Our first day's itinerary is to start from Zhangjiajie to the ancient city of Fenghuang, passing through Furong Town. Furong Town is also called Wangcun, named after the famous movie "Furong Town" by Liu Xiaoqing and Jiang Wen. Furong Town is not only a thousand-year-old town with a long history, but also a tourist attraction integrating natural scenery and simple ethnic customs. Surrounded by green mountains and green waters, the town is full of winding and deep streets and alleys. The Tujia stilted wooden buildings near the water and the five-mile long street paved with bluestone slabs reveal the honest and simple folk customs of the Tujia people everywhere. So far, I have been full of praise and linger.

Entering the entrance of Shiban Street, there is a famous hotel - the No. 1 snail in the world. Unfortunately, in order to reach the ancient city of Fenghuang as soon as possible, we failed to taste the fat perch and the legendary No. 1 snail in the world.

Climbing up the steps along the stone street, the mountain road is generally steep. There are row upon row of wooden houses with blue tiles on both sides, and they are scattered along the mountain. It was already noon when we arrived, and the shops inside were already open, mainly spinning cotton shops, silverware shops, ginger candy shops, and rice tofu shops. We tasted the legendary rice tofu at Liu Xiaoqing Rice Tofu Shop, which is said to be very authentic. It turns out that the taste of rice tofu is not the same as that of tofu. In fact, rice tofu has long been a specialty here before the movie was shot, so why rely on that fictional story? 20 years ago, a movie found this small town "dwelling in the boudoir unknown" from the map, and put it in front of the world, and then it will affect how many generations here, and even go deep into their bones. Since then, the tranquility once isolated from the world has been broken, and this profound impact probably started with a bowl of rice tofu.

Furong Town is known as the "town on the waterfall", with layers of stilted buildings and gurgling waterfalls, which can be seen from the viewing platform. When we arrived in the ancient city of Fenghuang, it was already 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and the sun was violently emitting light and heat, but it didn't stop our interest. As soon as we arrived at the hotel and put down our luggage, we started to tour Fenghuang with the guide under the sun.

According to the tour guide, the ancient city of Fenghuang was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is divided into two urban areas, the old and the new. In particular, the scenery along the Tuojiang River is the most beautiful. The river flows from top to bottom, and there is a small waterfall at the intersection of high and low. Local people swim and play in the river, so lively!

On the bank of the river, the Miao girl holds a mallet and uses the oldest way to manage the housework. The old ladies are doing needlework and making lanterns. There are also some Miao family members who set up stalls to rent out Miao clothes for customers to take pictures as souvenirs. There are also many small stalls selling various Tujia silverware, handicrafts and so on. Whether it is the river or the people, they all give us a peaceful and comfortable feeling of body and mind.

The ancient streets of Fenghuang mainly sell local specialties, such as ginger candy, Tujia silver jewelry, bacon, Tujia clothing, etc., which are cheap and high-quality. It is also a modern consumer club. There is a bar street near Hongqiao, singing and dancing. It can be said that Fenghuang is an ancient town integrating ancient and modern times.

We stayed in Fenghuang for one night. The accommodation was a small hotel run by a local private owner. The equipment was very new, clean and tidy, and it was on the edge of the Tuojiang River. Although we did not have a room on the side of the river, we could enjoy the coolness by the river at night. , Putting up lanterns is another fun. At about eleven o'clock in the evening, the small vendors along the river have disappeared without a trace, only the river is flowing quietly, and the evening breeze is gentle, quiet and charming.

The next day we departed from Fenghuang and returned to Zhangjiajie. After a 5-hour drive, we arrived at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the first national forest park in China in the afternoon.

The first thing to visit is Huangshizhai, the largest volley viewing platform. We arrived at the viewing platform through the cableway, and we could watch the phoenix under the cableway along the way, which was thrilling and exciting. Huangshizhai has a myriad of weather, and you can have a panoramic view of thousands of mountains and ravines. It is refreshing to see the six wonders on the Liuqi Pavilion. On the way, you can see Jiangtai, Tianshu Treasure Box, Dinghaishenzhen, Nantianzhu, and Zhaixingtai. Afterwards, visit the Front Garden and the Golden Turtle in the Sea of Fog at the top of Huangshizhai Mountain. Then walk down the mountain to see Longtou Peak, Conch Peak and Jiuchongxian Pavilion.

Then we walked and roamed the most beautiful canyon in the world known as the lover's street - Golden Whip Creek, which runs through the forest park from west to east with a total length of 7.5 kilometers. The world praises it as an "ingenious gallery". The gurgling stream, the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers make you feel like you are in a paradise. Along the way, you visit Yingbin Rock, Golden Whip Rock, Zicao Lake, Thousand Miles Meeting and other scenic spots, and then swim around the four scenic spots. Golden Whip Creek flows long and thin, and the water is crystal clear. Playing in the water is cool and refreshing, which is really pleasant!

On the third day, take a bus to the fourth gate of Shuirao and take the first elevator in the world - the Bailong Elevator to go straight up to Yuanjiajie, where you can have a panoramic view of the infinite scenery. The mighty and miraculous "Gathering of Divine Soldiers", the mirage-like "Paradise in the Sky", the exquisite "Houhuayuan", the refreshing "Ecstasy Terrace", and the unparalleled "No. 1 Bridge in the World" all let us Amazed. After that, drive to the foot of Tianzi Mountain and visit Tianzi Mountain. There are more than 2,000 pinnacles and many waterfalls and flowing springs on the mountain, especially the sea of clouds, stone waves, winter snow and Xiari are the most spectacular. There are ancient subtropical primary forests all over here, and strange trees and animals can be seen everywhere. It is a natural zoo and botanical garden. But unfortunately we did not see the legendary wild macaques. Afterwards, visit the Xihai Scenic Area, the stunning rooftop view, Yubi Peak, He Long Bronze Statue and other scenic spots. The scenery along the way is also beautiful, and we were amazed to find that there are still houses on the mountain, and there is an old man dozing comfortably at the door, with a peaceful and comfortable expression!

Finally, we visited Shili Gallery. We chose to take a small train to browse, and then returned on foot. There are audio guides on the small train. Feng and others are lifelike.

The short three-day trip ended in a hurry. Everyone relaxed and enjoyed in nature. Not only did they enjoy the body, but also enhanced the relationship and communication among colleagues, making our team closer and our strength stronger!
