Electric drill solution
An electric drill is a drilling tool that uses electricity as power. It is a conventional product in electric tools, and it is also the most demanded electric tool product. The working principle of the electric drill is that the motor rotor of the electromagnetic rotary or electromagnetic reciprocating small-capacity motor performs magnetic field cutting and works, drives the working device through the transmission mechanism, and drives the gear to increase the power of the drill bit, so that the drill bit scrapes the surface of the object and penetrates the object better.
1. Types of electric drills
Electric drills can be divided into 3 categories: hand drills, impact drills, and hammer drills. The prices of these three types of electric drills are arranged from low to high, and the functions are also increased. The selection needs to be combined with their respective scope of application and requirements.
1. Electric hand drill: The power is the smallest, and the scope of use is limited to drilling wood and as an electric screwdriver. Some electric hand drills can be changed into special tools according to the purpose, and there are many uses and models.
2. Impact drill: The impact mechanism of the impact drill has two types: the dog tooth type and the ball type. The ball impact electric drill consists of a moving plate, a fixed plate, and steel balls. The moving plate is connected to the main shaft through threads and has 12 steel balls; the fixed plate is fixed on the casing by pins and has 4 steel balls. Under the action of thrust, the 12 steel balls roll along the 4 steel balls. Make the cemented carbide drill bit produce rotary impact motion, which can drill holes in brittle materials such as bricks, blocks, and concrete. Take off the pin, so that the fixed plate rotates with the movable plate without impact, and can be used as an ordinary electric drill.
3. Hammer drill (electric hammer): it can drill holes in a variety of hard materials, and has the widest range of applications.
2. Types and selection of electric drill solutions
Electric drill solution type 1: wireless handheld electric drill
The drilling direction can be selected on the fuselage of the hand-held electric drill. The arrow of the button is reversed (counterclockwise), and the arrow of the button is forwarded (clockwise). The drilling speed can be adjusted on the top of the electric drill body. A turn on the drill head adjusts the drill torque. The torque can control the power of the drill bit to prevent drilling too deep. When the number on the knob is larger, the power of the electric drill will be greater when it rotates. When it rotates to the drill bit symbol, the drill bit will not stop due to external force. Generally, it is relatively safe to use an electric drill when the knob is turned to 13-15. The power to pull the trigger is different to adjust the rotation speed of the electric drill. A spare drill bit can be placed in front of the base of the handheld electric drill. Wireless handheld electric drills are generally used for drilling holes. When in use, fix the object to be drilled, hold the electric drill and pull the trigger of the electric drill.
Electric drill solution type two: impact drill
The power of the impact drill is greater and the drill bit is designed as a card slot, which does not need to be rotated and fixed. If you want to remove the drill bit, you only need to pull the sleeve. Impact drills are mainly used to drill screws and make holes in wood. When in use, you only need to fix the wooden board, fix the nails with an electric drill bit, pull the trigger and press down.
Electric drill solution type three: compact impact drill
Also available for women are the compact hammer drills, which are lighter in weight and simply press down to use. When you want to pull out the nail, you only need to press the direction button and press the nail with the electric drill. When taking out the screws with an electric drill, do not touch the screws with your hands due to the high friction temperature.
Electric drill solution type four: corded electric drill
Corded drills are more powerful for larger projects. Twist the fixed twist wheel of the electric drill to hold the drill or mixing head.
How big to buy, that is to say, how big is the largest electric drill bit that can be used, the bigger the more expensive it is of course, I personally suggest that a drill bit with a maximum size of 20mm is enough for home use. If you're on a tight budget, pick one that's affordable.
The same model has some additional functions. For example, the R in the model means that the drill bit can be reversed. This has the advantage that when you use the forward rotation to drill, you can use the reverse rotation to try again. As far as my experience is concerned, it is still very useful. The E in the model means that the electric drill can adjust the speed. Of course, it is also beneficial. When the high speed is not needed, it can be run at a low speed. Of course, with these two functions , the price will be higher, whether to choose or not depends on how to choose.
3. The difference between hand drills, impact drills, hammer drills and electric picks
The electric hand drill only relies on the motor to drive the transmission gear to increase the power of the drill bit to make the drill bit scrape through metal, wood and other materials.
When the impact drill is working, there is an adjustment knob at the drill chuck, and there are two modes of adjustable drill and impact drill. However, the impact drill uses the gears on the inner shaft to beat each other to achieve the impact effect, and the impact force is far less than that of the electric hammer. It can also drill reinforced concrete, but not as well.
The hammer drill (electric hammer) is different. It uses the bottom motor to drive two sets of gear structures. One set realizes drilling, while the other drives the piston, just like the hydraulic stroke of an engine, which produces a strong impact force, accompanied by the drill. Effect. Power can split a stone into gold.
The electric pick is to let the motor drive the swaying mound to run in the form of bouncing, so that the pick has the effect of chiseling the ground. The hydraulic pump pick uses the gas pressure transmitted by the air compressor to drive the pump hammer in the electric pick to bounce back and forth, thereby producing the effect of the pick hitting the ground, but the electric pick only chisels, and its pick does not rotate.
All in all, electric drills can only drill, and impact drills can drill and have a slight hammering effect. Hammer drills can drill and hit higher hammers, while electric picks only do hammering and can't drill.
4. How to use the electric drill
1. Avoid water pipes and wires
Be sure to avoid water pipes and electrical wires when drilling holes in the wall. Check the water pipes and wires in your home before drilling. These lines generally pass through vertically or horizontally. Before installing things, consider whether you will touch the wires or water pipes. You can also buy a metal detector at the hardware store, which can accurately detect whether there are steel bars or wires in the wall where you want to drill.
2. Drill bit and screw
The drill bit is generally purchased with a diameter of 6.5, and it is used with the wall-mounted expansion rubber particles, which can just absorb solid screws. A general brick wall is about 4 inches thick, so the choice of screws should be smaller than 3 or 4 inches. According to the required supporting force, if it is only for installing towel racks, the screws only need to be 1 or 2 inches long. . If you want to make a wooden shelf, you need to choose 2-3 inch screws. The greater the load required, the more screws are required.
3. Avoid using the attached screws and rubber plugs
When buying a hanger set, a complete set of screws and in-wall expansion rubber particles are usually included. If the quality of these in-wall expansion rubber particles cannot be guaranteed, it is recommended to go to the hardware store to buy wall expansion rubber particles for use. .
4. The aluminum ceiling helps measure the horizontal line
Because the aluminum ceiling used in general bathrooms is in line with the horizontal line, it can be used as a basic measure to measure two balanced drilling holes. Or measure two balanced boreholes with a level foot.
5. Propel with arm power
When drilling a hole, you only need to press the drill bit into the wall with your arm strength. The drill bit goes in and out of the wall twice, and then use a hammer to drive the expansion rubber particles into the hole. In the process of pushing, pay attention to whether there is a step of exiting and re-entering. Drilling out, drilling in and out twice means that the drilling is completed.
6. Make a mark on the drill bit
Generally, the length of expansion rubber particles and screws in the wall must be reserved. After measuring the depth of the screw and the expansion rubber particles into the wall, you can mark the drill bit, so that you can know how deep you have drilled, and you don't have to worry about over-drilling.
7. The expansion rubber particles into the wall cannot be scratched
The rubber plug should be completely inserted into the wall. If there is a protruding part, use a saw to cut off the protruding part close to the wall, so that the installed shelf can be attached to the wall as much as possible. If the wall hole is drilled too large, The expansion rubber particles in the wall are loose and about to fall out at any time, which can be remedied by stuffing bamboo sticks into the hole.
8. Do not screw on the dead screw in one breath
Align the position before installing the screw. Generally, click with a pen when aligning. After the four holes are aligned, you can start to install the screw. Jiuzheng Hardware Network reminds everyone that the installation of screws is very important, and it needs to be done slowly. At least 4 screws are needed when installing handles or hangers. When there are two screws, the last screw cannot be installed at all due to the slight displacement deviation in the front. The correct method is to go up half of the four screws respectively to facilitate position adjustment, and then install all of them after measuring the positions.
