Classification of sounds: Generally speaking, sounds are divided into three categories: Voice, Tone, and Midi.


Voice generally refers to voice, speaking sounds, etc., and is generally put into the IC in Wav format. Tone and Midi can be converted into Wav through a computer and then put into the voice IC as voice form, but it will take up a lot of space!


Tone is produced by adjusting the output frequency Do Re Me..., we use it less now.


Midi uses some timbres to synthesize colorful musical chords. For example, if we want to generate a piano Do Re Me... we will use a standard piano sound Do tone, and then change its playback speed and use a certain method to generate Do Re Me with 8 degrees higher and 8 degrees lower... Sound output method


The common voice IC sound output methods we use include DAC output, PWM output, PushPull DAC output. The DAC output is a current output, which means that the data is directly converted into different currents and output from the port. Generally, the sound effect will be better and the volume will be louder, but an external circuit is required to amplify it. PWM output refers to the pulse width modulation output which is of voltage output nature and can be directly connected to the speaker without any peripheral circuit. PushPull DAC output refers to push-pull output and does not require external circuits to be directly connected to speakers.

The first 2 or 3 digits of the name are the Songhan logo, that is, SN or SNC, the next 2 digits are the series code, and the last 3 digits represent the voice length. Our commonly used ICs are: 1 channel: SNC27K, 4 channels: SNC36K, SNC32K, SNC81K, SNC16K; 12 channels: SNC86A; 24 channels SNC86C; DSP ICs are all 2 channel WAV, multi-channel MID: such as: SNC7232, SNC7648, etc. The number of I/Os in each of our series is different depending on the size of the mother body.


Introduction to Songhan IC


SNC7648: 16Bit-ADC, 14Bit-DAC output, recording, playback, voice changing and other functions, DSP IC, the sound is compressed by Audio32, the SPI must be plugged in, the sound is placed in the SPI, the special thing about this is that the program is placed in the SPI , no Mask program is required.


4BIT voice IC sound quality ranking: SNC21K> SNC81K> (SNC36K, SNC82B, SNC88B)> SNC27K; Due to the different compression of DSP and 4BIT voice IC, the sound is not directly comparable.


If there is no special function, the 1-channel IC will give priority to SNC27K.
